  • What is THCa hemp?
THCa hemp is the name for federally legal cannabis (delta-9 THC levels that do not exceed 0.3% by dry weight), but which have high levels of THCa or; tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a cannabinoid produced in abundance by the cannabis plant. THCa does not produce euphoria or have psychoactive effects; however, under certain conditions, including heat, exposure to light, and time, it can convert to delta-9 THC, which does have an intoxicating effect or "gets you high". The conversion from THCa to delta-9 THC, called decarboxylation occurs when THCa flower is heated above a certain point (230-250F).
  • Is THCa legal?
Yes, THCa is legal in the United States, as long as it is derived from hemp plants with a THC content of 0.3% or less. 5 Dollar Joints sells only products that are compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill, meaning that all of our products are hemp-derived and contain 0.3% or less THC. However THCa is not legal in all 50 states. While it is legal in some states, others classify it as a controlled substance therefore we are forced to restrict certain areas during checkout. We advise you to check your local regulations before attempting to place an order if you are unsure.
